A message from the AV District Round Table Commissioner

Hello Everyone! Start the new school year or even your scouting season with an exciting event – Roundtable!!!

What is Roundtable? Roundtable is a form of commissioner service and supplemental training for volunteers at the unit level. The objectives of Roundtables are to provide leaders with program ideas; information on policy and events; and training opportunities. It is a forum for sharing experiences and enjoying fun and fellowship with other Scout Leaders.

Why should you go? When skillfully executed, the Roundtable experience will inspire, motivate, and enable unit leaders to provide a stronger program for the Scouts.

So, help me spread the word and pass this on to your committee Chairs, Cub Masters, Den Leaders and other interested parents so they can be well informed and be more involved.

Yours in Scouting!!!
Michael Nelson, ADC-R
AV District Round Table Commissioner

Rocket Into Scouting!

The Rocket Into Scouting program leverages an activity that kids love (building and launching rockets) while showing parents that Scouting will foster their child’s creativity, initiative, and sense of wonder.

What is Roundtable?

Providing knowledge, program ideas, skills, and fun resources is the purpose behind the Roundtable Planning Guides for Boy Scout and Cub Scout leaders. Using this guide along with local resources, roundtable commissioners can enable and motivate unit leaders to deliver an outstanding program to their Scout troops. The guide is designed to allow program topics to be used in the order best suited for your district.
