of the Boy Scouts of America
Do a Good Turn and PLEASE donate them to the District Uniform Closet.
Donations are needed all year long. At the beginning of the year, when boys transition and get new shirts. In the spring, when boys ready for Camporee and Summer Camp. In the fall, when recruitment is high. The closet is always in need of blue Cub Scout shirts as well as the tan Boy Scout Shirts in all sizes. Lots of families get turned away because we just don’t get enough
The District Uniform Closet provides uniforms and uniform parts at no cost to those in need when the Unit is unable to offer this assistance. We collect and distribute ALL BSA (Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, & Venturing) uniforms and their components for both Youth and Adult Leaders, male and female.
The Uniform Closet is for people in need ONLY. The Uniform Closet is not a substitute for the Scout Shop, or a discount outlet. Units should do their best to help their members in need hold fundraisers, such as can collections, so that the member can purchase new uniforms from the scout shop. If the unit is unable to provide this assistance, the District Uniform Closet may be able to help with used items.
Please understand that there is no guarantee that the closet will have all or any of items that are needed or that those items will be in like new condition. The Closet is stocked solely with donated items, without donations we don’t have anything to give and have to turn away those in need.
PLEASE DONATE! The closet provides a lot of official uniform shirts to leaders and boys of every size from teeny tiny to enormous so every single shirt helps, blue cub shirts are always in high demand. The closet can sometimes help out with BSA youth or leader hats, scarves & belts so we need those too. The closet takes BSA pants and shorts and the more the better as they are hard to fit. The Closet does not take things like socks, boots, Class B t-shirts, non-BSA items like troop scarves, slides, shorts/pants, or camping gear of any type. Please consider donating! Perhaps your item will be the one item that keeps someone participating in the program!! If you have gear and you want to donate it, please contact Lisa Neal at firstname.lastname@example.org or the scout office.
The closet would appreciate it if you would launder and fold the items you are donating (hats can be run through the dishwasher on light wash) but we’ll take them however you are willing to give them!! If you used badge magic on a shirt it would be most appreciated if you would have the shirt dry cleaned in the proper chemical (George’s cleaners) before you drop off the shirt to remove the residue, but again the closet will take it either way.
can drop off donations at the Scout
