TOUR PERMITS

Guidelines/Council Rules

  1. Tour permits must be turned into the District office no later than 5 workdays before you event. If it is a last minute drop off there is no guarantee that it will be processed before your scheduled event.

  2. You must have two leaders on each and every tour permit.

  3. The tour leader and assistant leader must be registered and at least 21 years of age.

  4. The tour leader must have either in his possession or have knowledge of the Safe Guide to Scouting and sign in the appropriate box on the permit.

  5. All information and signatures must be filled out on every tour permit, including the bottom half of the tour permits.

a.     Driver information must be filled in even if you are driving your own scout. This includes packs and we can no longer accept “Parents to provide transportation”.

i. I suggest that each and every unit put together a parent, vehicle and insurance form, which they can copy and attach to each tour permit, rather then fill it out each and every time they need to travel.

  1. All packs when going on overnighters must have a “BALOO” trained adult   with them. (Any adult or leader can take this training)

  2. Eagle Scout Project Tour Permits will no longer be accepted with the scout as tour leader or assistant. You must still have 2 adults on these projects as supervisors.

  3. Tour permits will not be accepted over 1 month prior to an event.

  4. If you are leaving your primary meeting place a tour permit must be filed.

If you don’t file a tour permit and something happens your unit is responsible for the liability of those injured.

As in all scouting activities there are guidelines through the national office but our council has the final say. If you have any questions please feel free to call us at 661-942-0582.

 Thank you,

 Lisa Pennock
